Lincoln, Oregon, a Stunning Place of Nature and Coastal Bay

Lincoln City, Oregon was named after the late U. S. President Abraham Lincoln. It was in March 3, 1965 that the city of Lincoln was incorporated by uniting five small communities such as the Cutler City, Delake, Nelscott, Oceanlake, and Taft. It was an issue to the residents if the name of the city is from those communities, which is why the local government held a contest of its new name.

The population is only around 7,900 during the Census 2010. The economy of the city is from two major business trends, the tourism and the retirement. On the north of the city is the Salmon River, where people can relax and explore the beauty of nature while experiencing the coastal recreation activities. The Regatta Grounds Park offers a very stunning and enchanting view of the Devil’s Lake. The south of the city is bounded with the Siletz Bay.

To the west of the Lincoln City lies the seven and a half miles of white sandy beaches along the Pacific Ocean with breezes that is just perfect for any outdoor activities, including kite flying. The Lincoln City is named as the Kite Capital of the World because of this. There are two significant Kite Festivals held each year, the Summer Kite Festival held in the month of June and the Fall Kite Festival in the month of October.

Among the famous structures in the city are the Chinook Winds Casino, Theater West, Bijou Theater, Eden Hall, Lincoln City Cultural Center, and many more. The city is also blessed with parks, golf courses, art galleries, local shops, malls, restaurants, bars, cafes, and more than forty hotels that can accommodate visitors and its residents, especially during the peak season for tourism.
