Virtualization

The creation of a virtual version of something in reference to operating systems servers data storage or network resources. Utilized by both enterprise and individual clients virtualization is the cloud-computing version of partitioning, where one drive is enabled to run multiple images simultaneously. A popular example is the Apple product of Bootcamp, where a user is able to run two operating systems on one machine.
