Information Silo

Is a system that is unable to communicate with anisolated system. Silos exist as a result of a current flow of information and current system in place; the incentive to integrate the isolated data does not justify a change. An example would be if a company stores client records on a system and internal users can access the data, yet out of network facilities can not act upon the data.
